Position assessment: We started off this year with core camp. It was really fun! It was so surreal to be back there as seniors, when the last time we were on campus during core cmao was when we were Freshman. It was a great bonding experience and it actually challenged me when we were in job sessions. I took on making the entire end of camp video and although it was stressful, it was so fun to make and people loved it. Our first major event this year was the Black Light Rally. It was a quick rally with a lot of spirit and fun. I had the opportunity to be in the fashion show with Dillon and it was so much fun. The seniors loved it, and people weren't annoying and immature which is always a plus. We had a club rush and it was a really successful event. I was at the Pride Tribe Table and it was a really fun time, with a lot of people who signed up. I had my friend AJ at the table with me and he is the loudest, most spirited person I know. Also, we had the BTSD inside this year, and it was so incredibly fun. At Least I know the seniors had fun because we controlled the energy of the dance. We are the only ones who knew how the dance was supposed to be run, and it was a success. I have recently been able to get on the shutterfly website and it got a new update. It is a lot harder to make pages now, but me and Gaby will figure it out. Starting the scrapbook early is the best thing, and I already have Gaby downloading shutterfly, taking pictures and she knows the login.
Standing committee: N/A
Special committee: A special committee that I was a part of this year was the decorations for the Back to School dance. Mak asked me to take charge of the committee and I did. There was one thing for sure that was not going to be a decoration…streamers!. I am still scared from freshman year when we had to scrape them off the ground. The decorations were minimal but turned out great, people weren’t going to see much of them anyway in the dark. The neon balloons next to the black lights were a great touch though!.
Mentorship: My mentorship partner this year is Mina. I love him so much. He is so funny and has the sweetest soul ever. I remember meeting Mina last year, because he was in the yearbook and I was in contact with the yearbook a lot and even did some pages! I was so happy in the beginning when I got him, and we have just gotten to know each other even more since then. I can’t wait to see him grow in the leadership program because he is a little scared right now, but I just know Morty will rattle him and break him out of his shell.
Concerns: I am concerned about those curtain PVC pipes! April, Devin, and I were digging through the bucket in the backstage room trying to find connectors and not broken pieces and it was a struggle. Duck tape has never been more handy then at that moment. I swear we were missing a bunch of middle pieces that stabilize the center of the frame, because we could not find them. I'm thinking that in the future we will purchase metal clothing racks so they are easy to take apart and build and they also have wheels, so they will be easy to store. Maybe that will be our senior gift?
Positive comment: I would like to give a positive comment to David Wang. I have never seen someone break out of their shell more than David. I remember when he was a Freshman and he was so shy. He would never come to any dances or events unless he had to. But now, I literally witnessed him rap on stage in front of a bunch of people at Core Camo and saw him at the back to school dance. He is full of surprises if you give him the chance and platform to prove it. He is the most intelligent person I know, and seeing him growth over the past few years has been insane.
Change: One change that I would like to make is leadership being 7th period. No I am just kidding, I know that it is out of everyone's control. But I would change the negativity around sitting in the curriculum seating chart. Sometimes it is necessary to be placed in a seating chart away from people even though your friends are separated on each four corners of the room. It's really not that bad and you can get to know the people you are sitting with better.
Impact: A way I have made an impact is making sure that I am someone the underclassmen can go to. I do not want to be an unapproachable senior, but someone they feel comfortable saying hi to in the halls. I have stopped the Freshman I had in my link crew group multiple times to check in on them because the first week can be really scary. There is one girl in my group that I devoted myself to checking in on because this was her first time being at a public school, all other years she was home schooled! I have also asked the same question to the Freshman in our leadership class.

Position assessment: From the last time we had an ASB meeting a lot has happened. Outside of my job, I tried to help my class as much as I could. Every year, I have been assigned to get the trailer for the homecoming parade, and this year was no different. Due to a great neighbor, we have consistently been able to obtain these trailers with no problems. Now I never have to do it again. I also participated in the Night Rally dance, even though I was out that day because of food poisoning, I knew I made a commitment and had to stay with it. I was also apart of coronation committee, and I’ll explain that process in the special committee section. As for being historian, it has its challenges. The shutterfly website has updated since previous years so it has been challenging to figure out. We have a few pages done, and those were easy ones that were trials for the bigger pages like homecoming. We have been able to check out cameras for rallies, and Gaby has been doing a great job getting the angles and figuring out the settings. I am also hoping that doing the picture assignment where I can just grab from a drive is easier than people just sending me pictures. A lot is going to be happening in these next few months because basketball is beginning, clubs, and especially college applications.
Standing committee:
N/A
Special committee: A special committee that I was a part of this time was the coronation committee. In the coronation committee we figure out what we will be giving the candidates and the king and queen, who is doing risers, who will be handing out the items, etc. It was definitely difficult to make the meetings because they were all in the morning before school and I have zero period. Luckily, Velasco was very understanding so he let me go. I was also participating in powderpuff so it also conflicted with the coronation itself. I did what I could, shared my ideas, attended the meetings, and from a viewer perspective, it looked great. I am glad I was a part of it for my last highschool homecoming.
Mentorship: My mentorship partner this year is Mina. I love him so much. He is so funny and has the sweetest soul ever. Where has he been! He has not been in class for so long and leadership without his presence is just not the same. Whenever we sit together he never fails to make me laugh, and I have been without my mentorship buddy for way too long. I hope he is okay, I am getting a little concerned but Gaby said he's ok. I need a good laugh until I can't breathe so can he come back please.
Concerns: I am concerned about some people in our class. Leadership is a very stressful class, and it comes with its challenges. Especially as a Freshman, I feel for them sometimes. They have never done this before, and they are just getting by. I don’t know who their rank in support is but I feel as if they should be checkin in with them more and making sure they know what they are supposed to be turning in. Now that Hoco is over I feel like they got it handled a little more, and now it is only up from here, hopefully.
Positive comment: I would like to give a positive comment to Gaby C. I don’t think sheknows how grateful I am that she is so willing to go out there and take pictures specifically at Rallies. For example, at the hoco kick off rally I wanted to enjoy it and cheer on my friend who were going to get on court because it is my last year. I am just so proud of her and thankful. When its a work day and I say, “Do you have anything to work on.” She already knows its work time on the scrapbook. Can’t wait to get to know her more, and see what we create.
Change: One change that I would like to change is praises. I understand the whole listening and not doing anything while praises are being said, but also, I feel like it is kind of a waste of time. For an entire clas period we are sitting and a person maybe gets one praise every 8 min. I just wish we could work while doing it because, we are just sitting there, and then when our name is called we pay attention.
Impact: A way I have made an impact is putting myself out there and being the leader in different areas. I would have never thought I would be such a staple person in so may clubs but it feels good to be reliable. If people go to me for stuff instead of the higher rank, I would be happy to do anything because that just says that this person trust me and I need to keep their trust.

Position Assessment:
The 2 weeks of work have been so beneficial towards my position. Gaby and I have been hard at work, mainly going through the pictures that everyone had submitted after homecoming. There are a lot of good ones that we have already uploaded and put on the pages. The homecoming spreads are done and I think that the quality of the photos make the page amazing. When we would walk into the classroom for 7th period, we would immediately sit down at the computers and get to work. I am excited about how it is going to come out. I also was involved in Dude. Be Nice for leadership and multiple clubs. I also completed my write up for my Elder Project and I was really happy with it. It was a really good concept that I am excited to execute. I am excited to head into winterfest and help my class with anything that they need, while also taking lots of pictures.
Dude Be Nice: This was a very busy event but the end was all worth it. The various clubs that I am in were a part of Dude. Be Nice were Girls League, CSF, and Leadership. I decided to go with the Girls League group since I am the President. I was also a major communicator for CSF and made sure to inform Morty of the people that needed to be excused and what we were giving.
Standing: Although I am not a spirit commissioner in leadership, I feel as if I play a big role in Pride Tribe. We have sat down once to decide the theme for boys basketball and it is a lot more difficult than volleyball and football. We have picked out the days that will have themes. We just need to sit down with Pendleton to decide the actual theme ideas. I am not a part of the candy and shirt part of Pride Tribe.
Special: For CASL I had a power group. Spencer was gone, but we brainstormed an entire page of ideas. Our topic was “How Do We Measure Our Program's Success?” and it was easy to come up with stuff given that we have multiple checks in our program that make sure things are running smoothly and successfully.
Positive Comment: I would like to leave a positive comment for the Senior Officer team for being absolutely on top of it this year. Whenever Morty brings up something that is due the Seniors are always mentioned because they have already gotten it in or filled it out. I am just so proud of them, because we truly started from the bottom of not knowing how to do anything to getting it done incredibly fast.
Change: Something that I would like to change is getting through our praises at one time, instead of reading half and not getting through the rest. I don’t think we finished praises the last time and that was right after homecoming, so now they are kind of outdated.
Concern: I am concerned with college applications. Although it doesn't apply to leadership, they are so incredibly stressful. I have to write so many essays, it is not even funny. I just have to focus and hunker down to write them all.
Impact: I am here in this program to make an impact on my peers with my ideas and to better develop my professional skills. If you are not making a difference and giving your fullest potential then you are wasting your time and energy. This program demands too much of you to not be giving your all. It just doesn’t make sense to sign up for such a vigorous course and not want to work for it. This program doesn’t just benefit you but your peers and student body as well, so why wouldn’t you want to make school enjoyable for you and your friends?

Position assessment: I actually haven’t been on top of my job position as much as I wanted to for the past two weeks. This is the busiest time of the year with sports and with it being the end of December, its finals. This is what I like to call hell week. Three tournaments in the month of December alone along with practice, work, and trying to turn in all my assignments. With all of this, I barely have enough time in one day without sacrificing sleep. I was also sick for a week so that set me back and prevented me from staying at formal and enjoying it. So, I wish I would have made time in my schedule to catch up on the scrape book and assign the pages with names, because it is starting to be posted on google classroom. They aren’t hard pages to accomplish, its just the fact of getting it done so I don’t have to worry about it. TIME MANAGEMENT WOOHOO.
Standing committee: N/A
Special committee: A special committee that I was a part of this time was holiday door decorating. In the holiday door decoration committee we cut out wrapping paper to the size of each designated door, make bows designated for each teacher displaying their likes and hobbies. My group was really flexible and understanding especially when I was not able to be there to cut out the doors because I had a game or was unable to go hang them up because I was really sick and had a fever. Ximena did an amazing job of being an amazing team leader and she was super understanding.
Mentorship: My mentorship partner this year is my little sophomore Mina. I think I can speak for anyone when I say that he instantly lifts the mood of any room he walks into, and I am not just saying that because he is grading this. I got so lucky to be paired with him this year. Every day he greets me with a smile and a “Gabbyyyy” and it instantly makes my day better. He is very hardworking and it has been so cool seeing him grow from a timid guy to an outgoing individual.
Concerns: One concern that I have is more of a me problem than anything else, like most of my concerns in life. I just am concerned about falling behind or out of touch in leadership, etc. Now that it is my season of sports, and college applications, and being gone all the time, I feel like I miss things and it makes me sad. I don’t choose to miss class but it still sucks when you have people that might need you for something and you aren’t there that day. It’s not easy but I have been doing it for 4 years and got it under wraps, it’s just weird to think that this is the last time I will get to experience all these things like leadership, leaving for sports games early, decorating holiday doors, etc.
Positive comment: I would love to give a positive comment to April. She just makes you feel loved, and that might be strange to say, but if you knew her you would understand. Every Monday when I walk into AP Gov she always ends up telling me that she missed me over the weekend, since we sit by each other. I always have to give her the typical “why” with the stank face to reciprocate the love back. She laughs at my jokes that really aren’t funny, and is the reason I am even passing AP Gov honestly. She is truly a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day and I appreciate her and our 12 years of friendship so much.
Change: Jaydin brought this up in class and I thought it was an amazing idea! A small section in our ASB write up that is for small accomplishments. I love that idea. We sometimes overlook our small accomplishments and moments of growth and it is important to recognize those. Reaching small goals is the stepping stones to catching big ones. I have been loving the workdays lately because I super duper need it. There isn’t any big changes this time, but I hope there won’t be any next year as well.
Impact: My impact currently is focusing on being a role model on the court towards the younger basketball athletes. I don't just want to be seen as "good" but as a leader that takes care of their team and is selfless. I just remember when I was on the freshman team, what kind of person would I want to follow the steps of because they cared on and off the court. That is my promised impact of this season.

Position assessment: Finally, the time has come where the scrapbook is in full swing. Gabby and I have been busy making sure everyone is on top of their scrapbook page because it gets really difficult when you have to schedule people to make it up on the weekends. I took in the individual scrapbook pages while Gabby has been taking care of winterfest. There has been a problem with people not remembering when their scrapbook page is, leading me to reach out to them. Usually I wait until leadership to remind them, but if they don’t remember to send me pictures even after then it messes everything up. So far so good and I can’t wait for everyone to see the finished product. Beyond my job I have just been trying to support my class in everything. I unfortunately was unable to participate in the night rally dance this time around due to time conflicts but it turned out great.
Standing committee: Not applicable at this time.
Special committee: I would say that I am a part of multiple special committees this month. One of which being something that I was very excited to be a part of because it brought me back to when I was in Middle School. I got to recruit for leadership to Ripon El’s eighth graders! Although the experience was interesting to say the least, it really made me happy that I was able to stand where seniors before me stood and inspired me to join the program. Another committee that I am a part of is Valentine Day heart for the school. I am in charge of a couple of teachers and a handful of students to write about. This is a very impactful thing we do on campus and although it is very time consuming, it is worth it in the end. Once again another committee that has not yet started on my end but is in the works in the Gallery of the Arts publicity! Last year I got roped into it and it was actually pretty fun. Everytime I walk into Bowers, 4th period, I see the canva poster I made for him.
Mentorship: My brand new mentor this semester is none other than my name twin Gabby M! I was very glad to have been paired with her and get to know her as we go on more mentorship lunches. As for lunch we did go! We went to the Sacred Heart meeting together and there was a lot of time left of lunch so we were just talking and hanging out. It was really chilly.
Concerns: A concern that I have is with election season. This is a very tense time of year where people are going against each other for positions and towards the end of the year, some may not make it in the program next year, but still have to be in the program this year. I am just hoping that no feelings are hurt and that we all get along after!
Positive comment: I would like to leave a positive comment for Makenzie. I will never understand her dedication and time that she is willing to give into something whether it's a big deal or a small thing. For example when she said she was going to volunteer to sit for 3 days and just watch and make sure that everyone was going to show up to their shift at the almond blossom parking lot, I was literally thinking “girl you are crazy” but I was also thinking “yea that sounds like something mak would make fun”. Only she would be that dedicated to something and it is pretty inspiring honestly.
I have been loving the workdays lately because I need it. There isn’t any big changes this time, but I hope there won’t be any next year as we
Accomplishments- Doing a never before ESPN show during a basketball game with student reporters! It got nearly 4,000 views and I was so happy with it and I was so proud that I edited it and pushed it out within a day!

1. What committee(s) have you been placed on, explain to them, what is your role?
The committee that I have been placed on is the publicity and poster committee. My Role as a committee member is to collaborate with my crew and come up with spirit days for the week the challenge will be executed, make digital and physical posters, and complete announcement forms. This committee has been really fun but also really effective. Trying to tie in the themes of the spirit days with the challenge themes was difficult but I do believe that the student body will enjoy them.
2. What did you contribute during the week to the committee work and presentation for next week?
During the week I stepped in as the team leader for Allie when she was gone on Monday. I collected Announcement forms and procedure forms from Mak and got to work with the crew. First and foremost we wanted to establish the spirit week days and themes of dress ups while also coming up with catchy phrases that matched the theme. I was gone on Thursday and Friday so I got what I needed to do while I was gone. For the presentation itself, I will not be present , but have already told Mak in advance, so she did not include me in the Presentation.
3. What will you be in charge of the week of the challenge?
For the week of the challenge I am in charge of publicity. PUBLICITY, PUBLICITY, PUBLICITY is the most crucial thing for this week to be successful. The more the student body knows, the more people will be engaged and interested in coming. This consists of sending it to our leadership group chat and telling them to repost, while also handing out little flyers in class to our student body directly. Personally, I think the best way to publicize is to use the easiest way of communication, yourself! Talking about the dance and all the fun coming up encourages my fellow classmates to join in. Recruiting the Seniors is huge because if they come then naturally everyone else will follow.
4. What are some pros that you saw during this week while planning and executing various items?
Honestly, a pro was that our group collaborated really easily and there was no conflict or disagreements about certain days or ways of publicizing. Another pro was that Mak kept it under wraps and made sure everyone knew how important this really was.
5. What are some cons that you saw during this week while planning and executing various items?
The only con I can think of is that there weren’t many people that signed up for publicity and spirit. There's really only around a solid six of us and making physical posters from the storage room might actually take a lot of time with the amount of people that we have. I really enjoyed the small group aspect of us though because everyone had something to do. I just wish we could've had a little more hands.
6. What will you be speaking about in the formal presentation?
I will not be speaking in the formal presentation, I am undergoing wisdom teeth removal surgery and couldn’t talk if I wanted to, unfortunately.
7. What is your overall opinion of the event idea?
I love it! I feel like this year we are drifting away from the cliché ways of giving back like ‘cookies at break’ or ‘food in the teachers lounge’ and instead really putting heart and love into what we are giving back. I would want a personalized letter anyday over a pack of oreos. We are going into a more meaningful direction and I am really excited for the impact that this is going to bring. Not to mention that the carnival theme does kind of feel the hole in the Seniors' hearts that were here Freshman year because it’s a friendlier “Ripchella”.
8. Do you believe this class will be successful in planning and executing this event?
Yes, I do believe that our class will be successful in the execution of this event because our planning has been very good so far. I am also genuinely excited. I mean there is going to be a taco caterer!!!!! How cool!
9. What should be done to peers in the class that do not fulfill their jobs?
For the peers that do not fulfill their jobs, I think that it will reflect in their grade, in all of our grades actually. We are supposed to keep each other accountable and a person that thinks they are free riding will not easily get away with it. We are in this together and I think we all want this event to be successful.
10. What is your favorite aspect of this event? What are you most excited for?
Personally I am really excited to actually go to the End of the Year Dance. I have never, ever gone. Freshman year- Covid, Sophomore Year- Didn’t happen, Junior Year- Out of town, Senior Year- GOING! The most exciting thing occurring has to be the tacos like I said previously. Never before had a taco stand. Amazing 10/10. This year the challenge is new, it's fresh, it's exciting! I can’t wait for it to be put into action.

Name: Gabby Delgado
Position: Historian
Date: 05/08/2023
Position assessment: In the month of April the book was due and thankfully we turned it in a few days early, Gaby filled out the purchase order and turned it into Morty because I was at Track. It got ordered, Morty used some magic with coupons to bring the price down, it was ordered, and it should be here for the banquet. Given that this will be my last position assessment for Historian ever, I am grateful for the year that I have had with Gaby and the book that we have made.
Standing committee: Not applicable at this time.
Special committee: A special commitee that I am apart of is for the Challenge. The committee that I have been placed on is the publicity and poster committee. We haven’t had a ton of mentorship seating because it has been so busy with elder projects, presentations, work days, etc. But we still talk here and there.
Concerns: My biggest concern is the amount of school that I have been missing because of track and field. Especially as we near the end, I am going to be missing a lot due to being pulled out.
Positive comment: I would like to leave a positive comment for Devin Fitzpatrick. He had to take on Prom unexpectedly on and he and the Junior officers did amazing. I am so proud of their perseverance and hardwork through adversity. Prom didn’t have any problems and they truly killed it. They also looked fireeee.
