ASB Report August 2019
Name: Gabby Delgado
Position: Freshman Representative
Date: 09/04/19
Position Assessment: We kicked off the start of the year with Core Camp. All of the Freshman Representatives from all the schools present, had Freshman Reps or people with positions relating to a Representative. Together as a class we learned facilitative writing and got answers to the questions we had about being a leader or questions about the upcoming school year. Towards the end of camp we had to do a gift to camp. All the Reps came up with giving random, funny prizes to each school and students. Everyone loved it and had a good time with our presentation. Ripon got the ‘Most United School’ award. Before the school year started we had Pow Wow. The t-shirt sales went really good and we sold a lot for the first round. We had a great system running, and had everyone work an equal amount of hours. We did have a problem with the ordering of sizes due to a misunderstanding between groups but it ended up running fine. The most current event that has taken place is Club Rush and BBQ. The BBQ was fantastic and planned really well and the Club Rush tables got set up and prepared before the huge wave of students came. Overall these events were really fun and ran really smoothly.
Standing Committee: I am not yet part of a standing committee in leadership but plan to hop into any group that needs an extra pair of hands.
Special Committee: The current committee that Elias is running is taking volunteers from leadership to create a video regarding the student handbook. This video has not been created just yet. The Black Light Rally special committee was a success. Natalie did a fantastic job getting everything organized and distributing different jobs to the committee members. Some people blew up balloons, some did electrical work, and others did the decorating with tape. It went smoothly and everyone loved the fun, activity filled rally.
Concerns: The BBQ line was really long, reaching all the way back to the pool gate. This caused people to get there food really late with only a little amount of time to get in lines for clubs.
Positive Comment: I would like to give a positive comment to Natalie. She put in so much hard work for the Black Light Rally. It must’ve been a real struggle to deal with school work and the dance at the same time. She had to get the orders for the black lights and give the seniors information for what to do when they run in. Natalie made sure we did everything right from the stickers that went on the phone, to the way that the rally ran. This wouldn’t have ran this well without Natalie. I would also like to give a huge positive comment to Kate. She has been there not just for me but the Freshman with anything and everything we needed help with. She has put up with so many questions and confused kids that I have so much appreciation and respect for her. She doesn’t have to help us as much as she does and I am grateful.
Change: So far this school year has ran really smooth. A lot of people have given input on our current seating positions in our leadership classroom (Library). Multiple members of leadership say that we need to be more connected and have a seating arrangement where we can see everyone like we did at Core camp and not be secluded into five groups. I personally think this is a great idea but we should not get rid of the desk, since we need a platform to write and take notes.
My Impact: For this upcoming year I not only want to impact my life in a positive way but others lives. I was unable to join a club for club rush but plan to join Multi-cultural club. They do such great things. For example, this week they are writing letters for homeless shelters which is so amazing. I can’t wait to join.
ASB Report September 2019
Name: Gabby Delgado
Position: Freshman Representatives
Date: 10/23/19
Position Assessment: Since our last ASB meeting, homecoming and Halloween dance has occurred. Homecoming was very very stressful. We started our lip sync way later than we should have, even having practice the day of because we were unprepared. Our lip sync ended up being pretty good even though we got last. We started working our float a decent amount of time before we needed it. We had a pretty hard state to decorate for but I think we did pretty good on the design. We accidentally tore down our float directly after the parade forgetting the fact that they will be on display, so we had to put it all back together. We ended up getting last place for homecoming but we had a lot of fun. The Halloween dance was our other major Freshman task. It ran pretty smoothly and we had two meetings with our adviser before hand. We completed our PO, but on top of that went to Ripon El to borrow some of their decorations that we had purchased last year. Everyone set up on Friday after school and the decorations stayed up until the next day. Not everyone liked the DJ because he was used to playing songs for middle schoolers, he felt the crowd and started playing songs people liked. It was overall a great time.
Standing Committee: A standing committee I will be apart of is the Senior Nights. Since we had to sign up for the season we played in I chose winter sports. So during the Winter I will go to every sports senior night and help Natalie pass out roses, or assist her however she needs me too.
Special Committee: A special committee that I was apart of was coronation. We helped Mrs. Ochoa and Natalie plan what was to be said and how the reveal would be. It was a really fun committee to be apart of. Setting up for the reveal rally was a time crunch but we did it in time. The outcome was really well organised. Another committee I was apart of was the Tri-Tip BBQ ticket sales. We sold almost all of our tickets and we had pretty good communication. I also participated in the BBQ on campus. I served the toppings like cheese, tomatoes, and pickles for peoples hamburgers.
Concerns: The communication has been kind of rough. The Freshman team was kind of in a scramble for the Halloween dance because of the lack of communication between us. Luckily Morty was there for us. She shouldn’t have had to do our job though. We should’ve talked and assigned people to do certain thing in preparation for the Halloween dance. Morty also talked about lack of communication with the Tri-tip dinner tickets, but I believe my group communicated really well.
Positive Comment: I want to leave a positive comment for everyone that helped us out in the time of need. We were really struggling to find chaperones for the Halloween dance, and even feared it getting cancelled. Most of the Freshman Advisers were busy or at a conference over the weekend which we understand. We walked all around campus trying to find teachers that were willing to help us out. Finally, with a little persuasion we got volunteers. Thank you to those who came!
Change: I wouldn’t really change anything right at this moment. I feel like I am really learning as a freshman in leadership. I am understanding why we have to have certain forms, how long processes take, etc. We still have a lot to learn but we will get there.
My Impact: My impact on the community and campus could be a lot better. My goal is to not just go to the recycling center for community service but to branch out into other forms of helping the community. The recycling center doesn’t involve a lot of interaction, it doesn't help the community a lot though. I’m going to try to make my impact by going to different community service around town.

ASB Report November/December 2019
Name: Gabby Delgado
Position: Freshman Representative
Date: 12/15/19
Position Assessment: Since our last ASB meeting it has calmed down quite immensely. Recently we had the Christmas night rally. Like Homecoming, we accidently procrastinated slightly on getting the proper decorations. Our idea was a solid one, and with the help of Kate we decided on a naughty and nice tree. We wanted to paint half of the tree red, and have a santa on top holding a Naughty list and a Nice list. We wanted to incorporate all of the Freshmans names on the list, but our bookkeeper said that we could not get a master list of all the Freshman. Cade, Abby, and I went to Cades house and spray painted the tree. The final result ended up being amazing!
Standing Committee: A standing committee that I will be a part of is the Senior Night for Winter Sports. I will help Natalie hand out roses for the seniors of Basketball, Wrestling, and Soccer. Other than that I am not apart of any other Standing committee.
Special Committee: A special committee that I am apart of is the Valentine Hearts committee My partner is Curly (aka Jacob). We have to cut out 50 hearts and put them around the school with peoples names on them and a positive comment about them.
Concerns: Some concerns that I have is still the lack of communication. We did not realize that the Christmas tree rally was that close so we were still hustling and bustling to get the tree done. In that process we had amazing communication and we were getting stuff done very fast. Another concern is the fact that we never received our XL Freshman T Shirts. We knew it was late but we waited longer to see if it would pop up and it did not.
Positive Comment: A positive comment for our amazing sports teams. First of all, congratulations to our amazing football team. We were underestimated from the beginning when we lost to Hilmar, but we pulled ourselves through and ended up being the State Champions for Division 4-aa. It was bitter sweet because it was my brothers last home game for High School football. Another positive comment for my absolutely amazing basketball team. We had a tournament this weekend and we ended up getting first place! I was unable to attend the game due to an injury the game before, and the state game.
Change: Right now there isn’t one thing I would change. I feel like everyone is in such a great mood despite finals coming up. Ripon High Pride is at its peak right now due to the many victories. It’s great!
My Impact: I am the captain of the Ripon girls freshman Basketball team. It is my duty to push my team and encourage them in every way possible. I love my team with all my heart and as a captain I have to step up and be a leader. To many more wins!

ASB Report January 2020
Name: Gabby Delgado
Position: Freshman Representative
Date: 02/12/20
Position Assessment: The month of January has been the second most stressful and chaotic week that we have had to deal with this year. The first obviously being October for homecoming. This month consisted of Winterfest, Yay! I am happy to announce we planned and communicated a lot better this time around. Although we got last place still, we were more calm and had knowledge of what we were doing. We ended up coming in third for shopping cart design, third for gym decorations, third for most spirited, and third for window decorations. We lacked in the dress up days department of winterfest. It was a really fun event to plan and cooperate with my freshman team.
Standing Committee: A standing committee I was on was the Senior Night for Fall sports. I am on the Freshman Basketball team so we had to create baskets and make posters for the seniors. It was a very happy and sad time because we had a great season but we had to say goodbye.
Special Committee: A special committee that I was apart of was Valentine Hearts. Jacob and I evenly separated the work. We mostly had senior girls and boys, so it was hard to personalize the comments on each heart. It made me feel good, doing these.
Concerns: I do not have many new concerns in the month of January. The only ongoing concern that we have had for awhile is our class shirts. We have checked with the District office and they could not find it in their holding facility. We also contacted the company to see if it had actually shipped to the highschool and it said it did. We have to get this resolved ASAP!
Positive comment: My positive comment goes to Natalie and Kate. I recently had to go to a board meeting for one of our assignments. I didn’t really know what I was supposed to be taking notes on or how to do the summary. I also only had the (C)(K)ades with me who were just as clueless as me. Natalie and Kate helped me with the summary and what I have to attach to the summary itself. They have been so helpful not just in this but in many other things and I'm so grateful.
Change: I currently would not change anything in the leadership program. I think our monday talks are getting very progressive which is amazing!
My Impact: I am unfortunately leaving Leadership next year and trying out yearbook. I want to make my mark this year. Whatever it is that I decide I want to be happy with what I have accomplished with this wonderful year of Leadership.
